EVERGREEN container ship bound for USA lost 36 containers

Jan 2 UPDATE: Confirmed it’s EVER LIBERAL, she lost 36 40-foot containers overboard, while 28 containers, also 40-foot, collapsed, sustaining various degrees of damages. The ship docked at Taipei Taiwan on Jan 2.

Jan 01 UPDATE: EVER LIBERAL is heading for Taipei Taiwan, most probably ports change caused by virus hoax fears, restrictions, regs, etc.

Dec 31 UPDATE: The ship suddenly turned back and as of 0500 UTC Dec 31, was sailing in SW direction, with port of destination still being Tokyo. Something is definitely wrong with EVER LIBERAL. Awaiting further developments, keep monitoring.

Dec 30: Many 40-foot containers spotted floating east of Shimokushiki-Jima island and Kyushu coast at 0230 UTC Dec 30, in vicinity 31 21N 129 30E. Containers may be lost by container ship EVER LIBERAL (IMO 9604160, dwt 104103, capacity 8452 TEU), according to her track/timeline/positions/speed, and most importantly, the fact, that the ship changed her port of destination. She was en route from Busan to Los Angeles, but at around 0900 UTC Dec 30 changed port of destination, now it’s Tokyo, ETA Dec 31.
